Rural Resource Centre

The Rural Resource Centre (RRC), a vital initiative by SEWAK, was established in 2005 with a focused mission to bolster the capabilities of NGO functionaries, workers, and various stakeholders through specialized training programs. Situated in a serene rural setting, RRC is designed to offer a comprehensive educational environment along with comfortable accommodations to facilitate an immersive learning experience. Below are the details of RRC including its objectives and facilities.

Objectives of Rural Resource Centre

Capacity Building and Skill Enhancement: RRC aims to strengthen the skills and capacities of individuals working with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other stakeholders in the development sector. By providing specialized training programs, the centre seeks to equip participants with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively address rural development challenges.

Promoting Sustainable Development Practices: Through its training programs, RRC encourages the adoption of sustainable development practices among NGOs and community-based organizations. The focus is on fostering an understanding of how sustainable approaches can lead to more effective and long-lasting impacts in rural development.

Facilitating Knowledge Exchange and Collaboration: RRC serves as a hub for knowledge exchange, bringing together participants from various backgrounds to share experiences, strategies, and insights. This collaborative environment is designed to inspire innovation and foster partnerships that can enhance the effectiveness of development projects.

Facilities at Rural Resource Centre

Training Halls:

Birsa Munda Training Hall: A 60-seat, air-conditioned training hall equipped with modern facilities, including a projector and an in-built sound system, designed to facilitate interactive learning sessions.

Madri Kalo Training Hall : A smaller, 25-seat training hall with air conditioning and projector facilities, suitable for more intimate workshops or sessions.

Lodging Facilities:

AC Rooms: The centre offers 4 air-conditioned rooms(IB, ICHHA, BRAHMNI, MAHANADI) each with 2 beds, designed to accommodate trainees, resource persons, or guests. These rooms feature attached washrooms with hot and cold-water facilities and are equipped with televisions and D2H services.

Non-AC Rooms: For group accommodations, there are 6 rooms(SAFEI, KOEL, BASUNDHARA, SANKHA, TAMGA, KHANDHAR ) with a total of 40 beds (dormitory style). All rooms come with attached washrooms, ensuring comfort and convenience for trainees.

Fooding Facility:

RRC boasts an in-house kitchen staffed by 2 professional cooks who prepare a variety of meals, including traditional Indian (Odia) cuisine, snacks, tea, and breakfast. The center caters to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dietary preferences of participants. Meal times are scheduled as follows: Breakfast from 8 am to 10 am, Lunch from 1 pm to 2:30 pm, Evening Snacks from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm, and Dinner from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm.
